Coffee Industry

America consumes one fifth of the worlds coffee but very few americans know that the people working in the fields (either in Ethiopia or Brazil) get such a bad salary that it is almost worth crying over. After having watched Black Gold I opened my eyes to a new world, this world has never been or never will be fair if we continue like this. Prices per pound is approximately 0.60-0.70 $, which is very low. There is more demand for coffee now so more coffee companies are opening up. The field workers are then paid less as the demand increases and production increases which eventually effects the price and then it falls as well as the wages for the field workers.
